The Advantage IR2 Infrared Heater is an affordable, yet efficient way to heat your property. The heater provides you with high-powered heating elements for a lower price than other electric heaters and at the same time the benefits of far infrared heating. That means direct heating of surfaces, no glow or buzzing and efficient low radiant heating.

These Herschel Advantage infrared heaters are made from high quality ceramic heating elements that both direct and reflect the heat to a large surface area in the room. Typically they only take about 10 minutes to fire up to full heat and from then you should feel nice gentle warmth.

The Herschel IR2  Advantage infrared heater is a 1.3kW bar heater comprising of 2 650w ceramic elements. Much like its bigger brother (the IR3), the IR2 packs a lot more punch than panel heaters when you consider its size, making it ideal for larger spaces or outdoor patio heating.

This infrared heater gets going in approximately 10 minutes, at which point it starts emitting a nice amount of far infrared heat – a more efficient form of heating that traditional electric convection heating.

When the heater is installed it should face the ground at a 60 degree tilt, ideally positioned from 2 to 2.5 metres above ground. The reason we recommend this positioning is to give the heaters the maximum chance to spread the warm rays to the room – go too high and you limit the heating effectiveness or go too low and it may get too hot!

Perfect product to heat a car garage, a workshop or a high street retail shop. Can also be used as outside pub heaters.

  • 100% silent, 100% safe
  • Invisible heat red glow when it heats
  • Zero emissions, unlike gas, oil and other boilers
  • Easy to install and maintain

Great for my patio. Look quite discreet when high up on wall. Work well

Have 2 installed in my workshop. Blimey they kick up a lot of heat. Will wait now for winter to see how I get on

Expensive but seem to work well. Got two last Feb to heat our cafe that just wouldn’t heat up. Customers seem happy with them but obviously more expensive than regular panel heaters

I have used the heaters for almost 2 winters and still working well. it takes a couple of days to get used to the principles, but it is ok after that.

As I use it in my workshop, me and my assistant tend to use it on a timer switch or an override mechanism I installed when the days outside are a bit colder. Only comment is that I probably should have gone for one IR3 plus the IR2, but will be coming back and ordering another IR2 which isnt really a problem.

If you are looking for a commercial infrared heater then look no further than the Herschel IR2. Over 1.3kw of power but it is not near infrared (the glowing infrared). The heaters get warm and through the heat out but it is nowhere near as intense as near infrared. Would really recommend – we have 6 units in our workshop and even when the weather is very cold the IR2 heaters work extremely well.

We installed this infrared heater in our conservatory and it has made a lovely difference. Without heating you can’t really sit in that room during the winter, but with this heater the temperature in there is pretty good and I would only not sit in there if it was in minus degrees during the winter (a little like outside today actually!). It sits quite nicely where the ceiling meets the wall so is pretty inconspicuous.

Worth mentioning it comes with a wire and a UK plug, so recommend you get an electrician to install it properly so it operates on switch.

1.3kW is a nice output. Installed 1 in my shed and it heats the room up nice and quick even when it is really cold outside. Previously used the infrared heaters that glow red, this one isn’t as intense, but still does the job extremely well.
